Breakbot @Webster Hall, 3.22.13

Breakbot’s debut album, ‘By Your Side‘ has become one of the most notable efforts in integrating disco back into the pop music world. The French DJ and producer, whose real name is Thibaut Berland, will be getting the crowd dancing with his live performance at Webster Hall this Friday, March 22nd. Joining Breakbot on stage will be Irfane, who provides vocals for some of his biggest hits, including ‘Baby I’m Yours’ and ‘One Out of Two.’

The Off The Wall-inspired aesthetic of Breakbot has caught the attention of more popular artists in the US recently. Bruno Mars is said to have approached the French producer to cover ‘Baby I’m Yours’ and was denied the right – which didn’t prevent Mars from releasing ‘Treasure,’ a song that is incredibly similar to Breakbot’s hit. Breakbot’s talent is undeniable and this is one night that is worth not missing.

Sam Sparro & Jessica 6 @Webster Hall 11.30.12

Two artists that don’t need an introduction to OXD readers are Sam Sparro and Jessica 6. Both Sam and Nomi Ruiz (lead singer of Jessica 6) are good friends, have teamed up on various occasions and are currently touring the country playing shows and DJing parties. Naturally we’re excited for their return to NYC at one of our favorite venues, Webster Hall. Look forward to hearing new tunes off of Sam Sparro’s latest album, Return to Paradise, and hopefully we’ll hear some new tracks from Jessica 6′s yet-to-be-announced sophomore album. Tickets are still available but be sure to get them soon. We’ve seen both acts perform live before–this is one show not to be missed. See you there!

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs @Webster Hall, 12.13.12

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, UK producer Orlando Higginbottom’s pet project, is quickly ascending to become one of the most appreciated house music acts of this year. His debut album, Trouble, has been on repeat for many of us and his latest appearance in New York City left us stoked and hotly anticipating his return. His latest single, ‘Your Love,’ an uplifting take on 90′s house, was released this week and already has a video showcasing its fun approach to dance music.

We recommend everybody to secure their tickets ahead of time. With the increasing popularity of TEED (even Jake Shears is a fan!), it’s very likely that these will sell out quickly before the date of the show. And based on his last performance, we foresee a big night at Webster Hall. It would be a shame to miss this one.
