Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs @Output, 2.28.13

We have extensively covered the work of talented Orlando Higginbottom, better known as Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. After having checking out his superb live performances at Music Hall of Williamsburg and Webster Hall last year, we are now excited to experience a different perspective of TEED’s work, this time as a DJ. The British producer will be showcasing his house music curation skills at the new weekly Thursday night party at Output, the cheekily-named “Input,” which focuses on bass heavy sounds.

TEED will be joined by fellow British DJ Rory Phillips and NYC’s Nick Hook.

Output is the newest, state-of-the-art club in town. It has the most comprehensive and breathtaking soundsystem we’ve experienced in NYC, and caters specifically to a music loving audience – very much like us. We are excited to hear (and dance) to TEED’s DJ set at a club that is to become a game-changer in the city’s nightlife.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs @Webster Hall, 12.13.12

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, UK producer Orlando Higginbottom’s pet project, is quickly ascending to become one of the most appreciated house music acts of this year. His debut album, Trouble, has been on repeat for many of us and his latest appearance in New York City left us stoked and hotly anticipating his return. His latest single, ‘Your Love,’ an uplifting take on 90’s house, was released this week and already has a video showcasing its fun approach to dance music.

We recommend everybody to secure their tickets ahead of time. With the increasing popularity of TEED (even Jake Shears is a fan!), it’s very likely that these will sell out quickly before the date of the show. And based on his last performance, we foresee a big night at Webster Hall. It would be a shame to miss this one.

Orlando Higginbottom, the UK producer better known as Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED) is performing at Music Hall of Williamsburg on July 31st, where he will showcase his debut album, Trouble, and we couldn’t be any more excited. His latest single, ‘Stronger,’ a follow up to his amazing track, ‘American Dream, Part II,’ features funky punctuated rhythms that remind us of another maestro of synth-pop, Hot Chip.

To give you an extra taste, here is an outstanding track that unfortunately didn’t make it on the album, but is surely one of our favorites from last year. ‘Dream On’ mixes classic 90’s house beats, Higginbottom’s soft vocals and the signature ethereal accents that make TEED’s songs so unique.

We’ve been anticipating an announcement from TEED for a while so we can’t wait to see him (and his outstanding headpieces) live. Let us know in the comments if you also plan to attend.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs: ‘American Dream, Pt. II’

Despite having one of the one of the most “is-this-guy-really-serious?” names out there, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs’ Orlando Higginbottom definitely knows how to put together a luxurious look and amazing tunes. After a series of successful singles and EPs, and remixing big names such as Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Friendly Fires, the English producer is finally releasing his first full length album, Trouble. The album, which drops on June 11th, features five previously released songs and nine brand new tracks, including his new single ‘American Dream, Part II.’ Don’t be fooled by the dreamy, ethereal sounds in the beginning of this song—this is an in-your-face kind of track that will keep you dancing all night.

Glitter cannons, over-the-top costumes, amazing songs. We think the boys will be more than happy with this one.
