One of our favorite Aussies, Felix Blosom–better known as Plastic Plates is back in New York this week and we are stoked to hear him spin again. Having occupied the disco several times in the past when he’s been in town, he’s becoming quite popular amongst NYC gays. Two artists that don’t need an introduction to OXD readers are Sam Sparro and Jessica 6. Both Sam and Nomi Ruiz (lead singer of Jessica 6) are good friends, have teamed up on various occasions and are currently touring the country playing shows and DJing parties. Naturally we’re excited for their return to NYC at one of our favorite venues, Webster Hall. Look forward to hearing new tunes off of Sam Sparro’s latest album, Return to Paradise, and hopefully we’ll hear some new tracks from Jessica 6′s yet-to-be-announced sophomore album. Tickets are still available but be sure to get them soon. We’ve seen both acts perform live before–this is one show not to be missed. See you there!

On the heels of the official U.S. release of their self-titled album, Azari and III are playing as part of the Sonar Tour, alongside musical greats such as Die Antwoord and Tiga. Tickets are about $70, which is worth it but it’s a little steep for this collective of gay music fans (hey, it is Halloween week!). Luckily the band is also performing one of their famed DJ sets at Le Bain that same evening.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, the DJ Set at Le Bain has been canceled as Le Bain is still without power. The band is still performing at Roseland.

Azari & III is often described as a throwback to 1980s house music and made shockwaves in the music industry, impressing the likes of Madonna (who was rumored to have asked the band to open her MDNA tour) and Tiga. Known for their love of dancing and house music, we hope to hear them spin not only their original songs such as ‘Reckless (With Your Love)’, or ‘Hungry for the Power’, but hopefully some of their spectacular remixes as well.

On the heels of a new album, Sam Sparro returns to New York for a show at Highline Ballroom. Sparro is best known for his hit ‘Black and Gold’ off of his critically-acclaimed 2008 album, Sam Sparro. A fixture in the L.A. scene by way of Australia, Sparro is also known for guest DJ stints at L.A.’s Mr. Black party. He is a stellar live performer who really showcases his immense vocal ability, flanked by his unique sense of style and devastating good looks.
